Enclosure size: Large Security: Low Vegetation: Grassy plains with large patches of forest. Species: A pair of male and females, from each of the following species: Miasaura, Parasaurolophus. Hatchlings also present. Population: 4 duck-billed dinosaurs, 3 oviraptors. Description: The visitors are allowed to take aride through the exhibit in a van. Although easily startled, the dinosaurs in this enclosure are fairly complacent. Miasaura: Caring mothers. Quite unlike the awful beasts dinosaurs are portayed to be. Build nests. A hit with the kids. Parasaurolophus: Large colourful herbivore capable of making all sorts of noises with its horn. Unlike Maiasaura, Para's do not mate for life. The male bull is larger and has a bigger crest than the female. The drivers tend to avoid the male since he can be fiercly territorial at times. Want to hear the sound of a Parasaurolophus? - www.nmmnh-abq.mus.nm.us/nmmnh/soundlong.wavThe visitors are permitted to feed these giants. Hatchlings can also be seen with their parents. More herbivores including the fast moving Galilimus and dagger-thumbed Iguanadon will be introduced in due time. A few oviraptors have also been introduced into the environment. These fast moving animals will eat insects, small mammals and dinosaur eggs. This helps keep the duck-billed dinosaur population under control. They are the only predators in the park which are kept under low security condition. They do not pose any threat to animals any larger than a beaver. Costs: 39 million $
